Josephine & John Jacobson Child Care Center
Our brand new state of the art Child Care Center serves children 18 months through 5 years of age. Convenient to both home and business locations and near major transportation arteries, the YMCA Josephine & John Jacobson Child Care Center provide a well-balanced blend of social interaction and self-discovery through the support of our age appropriate High Scope curriculum. Children learn to make their own choices and decisions as they grow and develop and help fine-tune other skills to give them a strong start in school.
We provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
Subsidized sliding scale slots are available through the NJ Division of Family Development that will help a family in need of quality child care at an affordable price. Community Coordinated Child Care vouchers also accepted.

School-Age Child Care
We build strong kids, strong families, strong communities
Parents will have peace of mind knowing that their child is well supervised in a caring, safe environment while they work. The aftercare program is conveniently located in ten public elementary schools throughout Elizabeth. The children in this program will be given time and help with homework, have a light snack; and participate in creative and recreational activities. Our character values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility are integrated throughout our program.
Health U - The Elizabeth Branch YMCA is proud to be a part of the Healthy U program. The Healthy U Program is New Jersey‘s First comprehensive statewide initiative to address childhood obesity in the afterschool program setting. The Healthy U Program teaches children about nutrition and how to identify, practice and adapt healthy living habits. The program encourages changes and behavior that support healthy eating habits. The physical education component is an evidence based program that incorporates health reacted fitness skills, competency and cognitive understanding of the importance of physical activity. The program will incorporate at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily.

- Pick up by 6:30 p.m. - $235 (Scholarships are available if qualified)

Vacation Day Program
The YMCA understands that just because the kids have a day off from school it doesn’t mean that parents do. The Elizabeth Branch offers its high quality child-care programs for various holiday and school closures for both program and non-program members. We will not run program on New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. The Holiday/Vacation Day Program is held at the Elizabeth Branch YMCA; transportation and lunch are not included.
Hours: 7:30am-6:30pm
Fee: $30 per day
