MILITARY APPRECIATION MONTH

The Gateway Family YMCA Honors Military Families During Military Appreciation Month
Information Sessions to Be Held in May at the YMCA

May is Military Appreciation Month and The Gateway Family YMCA is collaborating with the Union County Office of Veteran Services to provide YMCA access and information sessions to celebrate local military families.

Informational sessions provided by Union County are sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders will be available at the following locations: Five Points Branch, 201 Tucker Avenue, Union, May 7, 5pm-8pm, Elizabeth Branch, 135 Madison Avenue, Elizabeth, May 14, 5pm-8pm and Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, May 21, 5pm-8pm.

Throughout the month of May, Non- Member Military families are welcome to visit any branch of The Gateway Family YMCA for a free month of membership and information on applying for the Military Family Membership through the YMCA Military Outreach Initiative

Canady, CEO, The Gateway Family YMCA. “The Y has numerous ways we can help.” The Gateway Family YMCA supports military families with programs and initiatives that improve their well-being and provide opportunities to connect with other families waiting at home during deployment.

Since 2008, the Military Outreach Initiative has provided more than 75,000 Y memberships to military members and their families and more than 115,000 children recevied child care through the Respite Child Care program or similar programs. Here in Eastern Union County and Northern Middlesex County, The Gateway Family YMCA provides Military Family Memberships to qualified families.
