YMCA Announces Complimentary Benefits for Affected Families

UNION COUNTY, NJ – The Gateway Family YMCA is offering families affected by the recent federal government shutdown relief and respite at the YMCA in the form of a complimentary short-term membership. Local families are invited to join the YMCA at the Elizabeth Branch - 135 Madison Avenue, Elizabeth, Five Points Branch - 201 Tucker Avenue, Union, Rahway Branch – 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, or Wellness Center Branch – 1000 Galloping Hill Rd, Union with proof of federal employment and government issued photo identification.

“To assist families affected by the current federal government shutdown, our YMCA will offer a complimentary short term membership to affected federal government employees and their families,” stated Krystal R. Canady, CEO, The Gateway Family YMCA. “The YMCA is one place where the entire family can relax, refresh and become healthy together.” Current members facing financial difficulties due to the federal government shutdown are invited to speak with their Member Engagement Director.
