Rahway Branch YMCA is partnering with other NJ YMCA’s and offering a 7th Grade Initiative. The Rahway Branch YMCA will be providing 7th Grade Program memberships to 7th grade students in Rahway, Linden and Carteret. Registration begins September 2, 2008. Membership will be good until 8/31/09!

- Must be a current 7th grade student;
- Must be a current resident of Rahway, Linden or Carteret;
- A parent or guardian & school ID is required upon registration;
- Return completed membership application, parent agreement and teen program survey;

All Inclusive Youth and Teen Memberships
Our Youth & Teen programs at the Rahway Branch YMCA allow Preschool, Grade School, Middle School & High School students, to get together and participate in well-supervised activities. Our programs offer these young people the opportunity to participate in athletics, fitness, and educational activities designed to challenge their minds as well as their bodies. The YMCA encourages and expects behavior that exemplifies our four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Youth & Teen Group Exercise Classes*
Youth Strength (Ages 8-11)
Participants will learn to use cardiovascular and strength equipment. Each class will begin with a discussion on healthy nutritional guidelines.

New! Go Girl Go Youth Strength (Ages 8-11)
Based on the Women’s Sports Foundation curriculum, this class will focus on teaching girls how to increase physical activity and make fitness a lasting part of their lifestyle. Each class will include a discussion on exercise, self esteem and making healthy choices. Class includes Go Girls’ Scrapbook and Parents Guide. Limit of 12 Girls per Session.
Skills and Drills (Ages 7-11)
Your child will begin to learn the fundamentals of basketball with practice and drills. Classes will emphasis teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline and self confidence. Class fee includes T-Shirt.
Youth All Sports (Ages 4-6)
Soccer, Basketball, and Floor Hockey. Your child will begin to learn the fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship and fun are stressed for each sport through drills and games.
Youth Cheer/Gymnastics (Ages 4-6 or Ages 7-11)
Participants will learn both cheerleading and gymnastics skills, while also improving their strength and flexibility in a safe and fun environment. 30 minutes of gymnastics and 30 minutes of cheerleading for 1 hour of fun fitness! Class will include a T-Shirt, party and demonstration for parents at the end of each session.
Jazz / Hip Hop Dance (Ages 5-11)
Inspired by Hip-Hop music, this class will develop dance techniques, creativity and music appreciation.
Beginning Youth Martial Arts (Ages 4-6 or Ages 7-11)
This class will develop: Confidence, Control, Sportsmanship, Balance, and Coordination. Exercises include basic kicking and punching and martial arts techniques. No Experience Required.
Teen Strength (Ages 12-17)
Participants will learn to use cardiovascular and strength equipment. Each class will begin with a discussion on healthy nutritional guidelines.

Friday Night Teen Recreation (Ages 12-17)
Friday Nights 7:00pm-9:15pm: Come together at the YMCA for basketball and open swim. Non-members must be accompanied by a Rahway Branch YMCA member throughout teen night.
