The Gateway Family YMCA is gearing up for a summer of fun with the theme, “Where Adventure Begins”, and is inviting the public to learn more about summer camp at an open house this spring. Summer camp open house dates are scheduled for March 21 6-8pm, April 21 12-3pm and May 15 6-8pm. Summer day camp is available at the Elizabeth Branch, 135 Madison Avenue, Elizabeth, Five Points Branch, 201 Tucker Avenue, Union and Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving Street, Rahway.


On Saturday, April 21, The Gateway Family YMCA is holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active at the annual YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families. Healthy Kids Day is an opportunity to ignite children’s imaginations so that they can imagine what they’ll accomplish this summer.

The Gateway Family YMCA - WISE Center YMCA Branch is hosting an open house for their Adult Day Services Program on Friday, March 16th 2:00pm-3:00pm, located at 2095B Berwyn Street, Union, NJ. The W.I.S.E. (Wellness, Independence and Socialization for our Elders) Adult Day Services Program is a social opportunity designed to help adults maintain their independence and improve their quality of life through activities designed to meet their special needs. Caregivers are provided a necessary respite while their loved ones are cared for in a safe, secure and supportive environment.

FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT – Nurturing the potential of every child and teen through child care, afterschool child care, day camp, sports, arts, learn to swim, teen and health and well-being classes.
FOR HEALTHY LIVING – Improving the nation’s health and well-being with programs and membership for youth, teens, adults, seniors and families. Programs include: yoga, zumba, volleyball, basketball, tae kwon do, arthritis, dance, health assessments, personal training, diabetes prevention, swimming and adult and child learn to swim.
FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY – Giving back and providing support for our neighbors. The Y has supportive housing for individuals and families, Adult Day Care, Financial Assistance along with community engagement.
