NORTHFIELD BANK FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE YMCA

The Northfield Bank Foundation presented a generous donation to The Gateway Family YMCA in support of the Power Scholars Academy. The $15,000 donation was presented by Diane Senerchia, Executive Director, Northfield Bank Foundation to Krystal R. Canady, CEO, The Gateway Family YMCA. The donation provided supports the Power Scholars Academy summer learning program.

7TH GRADE INITIATIVE

The Gateway Family YMCA provides free memberships for all 7th Grade students as part of the NJ YMCA 7th Grade Initiative, a state-wide program designed to support and encourage teens to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Providing services for Eastern Union County and Northern Middlesex County for over 100 years, The Gateway Family YMCA has 5 YMCA branches in Elizabeth, Rahway and Union, NJ. 7th Grade students from the surrounding areas are invited to visit the YMCA and sign up for this complimentary membership.

The Gateway Family YMCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, health and community service organization of caring staff and volunteers who are dedicated to providing quality services to people of all ages, races, faiths or incomes.

The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of community.
FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT – Nurturing the potential of every child and teen through child care, afterschool child care, day camp, sports, arts, learn to swim, teen and health and well-being classes.
FOR HEALTHY LIVING – Improving the nation’s health and well-being with programs and membership for youth, teens, adults, seniors and families. Programs include: yoga, zumba, volleyball, basketball, tae kwon do, arthritis, dance, health assessments, personal training, diabetes prevention, swimming and adult and child learn to swim.
FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY – Giving back and providing support for our neighbors. The Y has supportive housing for individuals and families, Adult Day Care, Financial Assistance along with community engagement.
